The Lusaka City Council , (LCC), has observed with concern a surge in the number of illegal car wash businesses operating within the Central Business District (CBD).
LCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba says the CBD has strict regulations against operating and running car wash businesses.
“It is therefore prohibited for anyone to do such a business activity within the CBD”, said Ms. Mwamba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
She said the Car Wash businesses in the CBD is a source of stagnant water which she said has contributed to a rise in mosquito breeding areas.
Ms. Mwamba said the Local Authority will not condone any illegal set-up of businesses as it strives to bring order and sanity in the City.
