President Edgar Lungu has assured members of the diplomatic corps in the country that government is committed to delivering a free, fair and transparent election in line with the Zambian constitution.
Mr. Lungu says government will ensure that law and order prevails during the elections to enable people freely choose their preferred leaders.
Speaking during the annual greeting of the diplomatic corps held virtually at state house today, Mr. Lungu said that government will soon commence the process of sending invitations for the deployment of regional and international electoral observers to ensure the smooth conduct of the general elections.
Mr. Lungu said that government will also continue to call on stakeholders, including the Church, traditional and civic leaders to sensitize people on the importance of preserving peace and stability before, during and after the elections.
