“Lumezi Town Council, through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF),  has repaired the broken-down mortuary at Lumezi Mission Hospital,” Council Chairperson Oliver Mwale has said.”

Speaking in Mwanya during the commissioning of completed CDF projects, Mr. Mwale said Lumezi district has for a long time been without a functioning mortuary as the existing facility had broken down a few years ago.

He said residents had in past been forced to burry their deceased relatives within a day or would have to transport bodies to the nearest mortuary in Lundazi.

Mr. Mwale said the Local Authority has been able to procure new refrigeration equipment for the mortuary.

He said the holding capacity of the same mortuary has since been increased from 05 bodies to 20 and the mortuary will soon be commissioned.

This is according at a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
