The Opposition Leadership Movement has called on government through the ministry of Agriculture to embark on the drilling of boreholes across the country in strategic farming sites, in view of the unpredicted rain pattern.

Party Secretary General Jairos Ngoma was responding to callers when he featured on Christian Voices’ chat back program in Lusaka today, on his recommendations to the poor rainfall pattern being experienced across the country.

Mr. Ngoma said that the drilling of boreholes is the only short term measure that could help farmers from completely losing out on their crop yields through irrigation.

“This move must be considered earliest to help farmers that solely depend on farming for survival” said Mr. Ngoma.
