The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) says government has neglected its own people by subjecting them to high fuel prices.
CSPR Program Coordinator, Civil engagement and decentralization, Mwila Musonda, said this today when she responded to callers on Christian Voice’s Chat-back program, on the topic “impact of fuel prices on Zambians.”
Ms. Musonda said that the current fuel prices go against the government’s resolve to lowering the cost of living and ending poverty especially in rural areas.
“It is hard to believe that poverty levels will eventually reduce with the current fuel prices obtaining on the market”, said Ms. Musonda.
She has however urged government to start executing home grown policies that speak to the depreciation of the kwacha that will have a positive impact on the fuel prices.
