Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda has discredited the “Grand Scheme Documentary” saying the alleged sponsors of its production should not be allowed to disintegrate the cordial and good bilateral relations Zambia shares with Zimbabwe.
The ”Grand Regional Scheme Documentary” alleges a secret plan to undermine the stability and sovereignty of several African countries, orchestrated by powerful foreign actors and local elites, and alleges President Hakainde Hichilema’s involvement.
However, Ms. Kasanda says the named opposition parties’ individuals behind the said documentary would not mind seeing Zambia destabilized in order to achieve what she called their selfish ambitions.
“It is saddening to see them literally discredit their own country and leader for the sake of international acclaim when in actual fact they are causing permanent and irrevocable damage to the reputation of our peaceful country”, said Ms. Kasanda in a statement issued to Christian Voice News in Lusaka today.
Ms. Kasanda says the Zambian and Zimbabwean Governments are currently enjoying an affable relationship.
Meanwhile, United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Province Chairman Obvious Mwaliteta has called on party youths to strategize and protect President Hakainde Hichilema, whom he said was not safe, according to the circulating video.
Speaking at a Press Briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Mwaliteta said the video insinuates that President Hichilema is not safe to travel around the region.
He said youths should position themselves to protect the president, even with state security around.
