Government has advised individuals that want to buy used motor vehicles from Japan to use the Zambian embassy in Tokyo for guidance on legitimate sources to avoid loss of cash.

Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda says this follows mounting complaints to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, on Zambians being swindled by unscrupulous people running websites in Japan, purporting to sale used motor vehicles when in fact not.

Ms. Kasanda has told Christian Voice News in Lusaka today that Zambians should be cautious when purchasing used motor vehicles from online dealers purporting to be operating in Japan.

She advised people to use the Zambia Postal Services Cooperation which she said has a Memorandum of Understanding with various Car Dealers in Japan.

Ms. Kasanda also said those that still prefer online purchase should deal with Japan Used Motor Vehicles Association, which she said is approved by the government of Japan.
