Cooperating partners in the Ministry of Health have committed over $2billion  to support service delivery and health system strengthening for the medium term, 2021 to 2023.

Minister of Health Jonas Chanda says the amount is much more than what was given to the ministry last year, indicating a 29% increment for 2021 alone.

Speaking at a Press Briefing in Lusaka today, Dr. Chanda indicated that the increased donations to the ministry, amid low public trust due to scandals, shows that the partners have confidence in President Edgar Lungu’s leadership.

Dr. Chanda assured the partners of prudent utilization of the resources and assured of value for the donated money.

And Dr. Chanda indicated that the Africa Center for Disease Control has given Zambia 25 Million USD towards the procurement of the Covid-19 vaccine after it is approved by cabinet.
