Battle Cry for Zambia has condemned the increased number of Rape and Defilement Cases in the country.

Battle Cry for Zambia Founder O’Brian Mayambu says as a nation that dwells on Christian values and principles it is not cultural for Zambians to engage themselves in such acts of lawlessness.

Speaking in an interview with Christian Voice News in Lusaka today, Mr. Mayambu said people must take responsibility in respect of everyone’s human rights which include the right to feel safe and not to be put through torture as highlighted in Article 3 and 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Mr. Mayambu has urged mothers and guardians who are witnesses to their children being raped or defiled to exercise responsibility and report such cases to relevant authorities saying that staying quiet encourages perpetrators to continue doing the act.
