Free State Stars goalkeeper Daniel Agyei wants to fight for a place in Ghana’s World Cup squad after his return from injury.
Agyei began training last week after being sidelined by a hernia problem which saw him undergo surgery.
He was on the bench at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa and believes he is fit to contest for this June’s showpiece.
“I am feeling really comfortable after I recovered from the injury and I am in good shape,” the 23-year-old told an Accra-based radio station.
“For me I am always ready to give my best to the Black Stars more so now that I am fit.
“All that I am praying for is that the coach looks to my direction and give me a chance to stake a claim again.”
Agyei started 14 Absa Premiership matches for Free State Stars before his injury and was the first choice.
