A 76-year-old man by the of name Boaz Kalenga of Salukombo village in chief Mutondo’s area has been burnt to death by unknown people on suspicion of practicing witchcraft.
And nine houses were subsequently burnt thereby destroying property worth millions of kwacha during the incidence.
Both Kaoma District Commissioner Kennedy Mubagwe and the police confirmed the incidence which occurred yesterday.
Facts are that the villagers organised a witch finder following the death of two people in the past two years in Salukombo village.
The witch finder had promised them of bringing back to life the deceased.
Upon the witch finder disclosing that Kalenga was behind the death of the two deceased , the angered villagers later went on rampage burning the suspect to death and burnt down nine houses and household property remains unestablished.
The body of the deceased is in Kaoma District hospital and police have since launched a manhunt for the witch finder and the arsonists.
