Four people have died while 11 others have sustained serious injuries in an accident which occurred on 17th July, 2019 at around 06:30 hours at Kasusu area 22KM east of Nyimba district on great east road.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has told Christian Voice News in Lusaka today that 16 others sustained minor injuries.
Ms. Katongo said this involved a motor vehicle Fuso Mistubish Truck registration number ALZ 6962 which was driven by Mackriel Mumba aged 37 of Tasala 5 compound in Petauke district, carrying 38 passengers on board and 50 by 70kg bags of assorted goods.
She said the accident happened when the driver was ascending a hill in the process the propeller shaft broke due and the motor vehicle rolled backwards leading to the driver losing control of the motor vehicle and later overturned.
